Born and raised in Homer, Alaska Mike Yoshida made the move to the PNW fresh out of high school. After graduating from Whatcom Community College, Mike headed into the mountains and went on to work at Mt. Baker in the winters and at High Cascade Snowboard Camp during the summers. 200+ days of snowboarding were to be had during the years of the endless winter in the early 2000’s. Soon after Yosh picked up a camera and started to document the snow world around him. After shooting roll after roll of film, and developing prints in the darkroom, that first submission was made. Photos started popping up in Frequency, TWS, and Snowboarder. Mike moved onto become the Associate Photo Editor over at SNOWBOARDER Magazine. During the winter months Mike can be seen traveling the world gathering images for SNOWBOARDER as well as several clients that have trusted him to build out their ad and catalog imagery.
